Exchange describes the collective psyche of white-collar Wall Street workers seen on their way to work in the first summer of the post-9/11 universe. The camera is always within the subjects' field of vision, although most aren't conscious of its presence. The percussive soundtrack catches and punctuates the rhythms of walking; eyes betray the interior monologues taking place and the underlying disquiet.
